Martha works on conservation projects in the Shenandoah Valley. One of her favorite parts of the job is meeting property owners and hearing their stories about the land. She grew up on a farm tucked up against the Blue Ridge Mountains in Greene County. She earned a bachelor’s from William & Mary and a master’s in urban and environmental planning from the University of Virginia. Her experience and interests include local food systems, horticulture, and watershed conservation. In her spare time, she enjoys working in the garden, practicing plant identification along hiking trails, and watching way too many British mystery shows.
