Bill joined VOF in 2002, shortly after placing a conservation easement on his family’s 500-acre mountain farm in Russell County. He is a lifelong conservationist with a special interest in old-growth forests. He was one of the partners in the years-long effort to preserve the property that became the Channels State Forest and the Channels Natural Area, which adjoins his family’s property. He loves to hike and will go many miles to see an old or especially large tree.
